Rained here. Mainly in the afternoon and is still raining. Which is ok.

well my computer is dead...started with just a crash, then browsers crashing, guildwars is stuck on 'repairing data archive' and never loads...then, my antivirus wont update so it wont run, and then, thinking it was my graphics card--we got a new one, put it in and now the computer wont even load (it starts for a bit, but never goes anywhere--and then it shutsdown).

/really really really....sad panda.
so I have my hubby's extra work laptop (windows 7 ugh) for temporary use (its sitting on top of my keyboard with cables running all over the place!).

when it rains it pours---hubby still hasnt gotten his computer running either...so now neither of us have a real computer--just laptops.

Cosy, what a shame about your pc. It is scary when something like that happens (especially as I never learn and never do proper backups). I hope you get it running soon.

I have got used to win 7 by now but my husband updated my pc to win 8 and I am all at sea again.

My laptop kinda broke last night. Worked fine two nights ago, then logged in last night and as soon as I logged in Windows Explorer got hung up and just kept thinking. I couldn't click on anything. Tried to get to Task Manager, no dice there either. But it was only on my username, if I switched to an admin then it worked fine. Dunno why... Beat my head over it for 2 hours, couldn't figure it out. Maybe it will fix itself... (Yes it runs Windows 7, first issue I've had with it)

At least I have my new PC that is still running great.

sounds like the problem my husband was having with 7...could only use admin (which he doesnt mind anyways).
thinking my issue is hardware...have done some checking and people are pointing to overheating so replace the thermal paste on the processor or bad memory sticks...

yeah I am pretty upset by this, its not been a good week and now we have NO working computers (and laptops just dont cut it). and I am NOT liking the changes they made to mozilla...nothing is where I remember it (I never upgraded so I am tons of versions behind).

I actually fixed it. Well sort of. I figured out the problem. Something is going wrong with Skype and causing it to freeze windows explorer. As soon as I uninstalled it everything started working again. So ya, just won't run skype on this computer for now I guess.

Ya the new Mozilla changes are going to take some getting used to for sure....

Thanks. Now if I could just get skype to work on it at some point that would be great. Until then, just gonna hold off.

Supposed to just rain some more tomorrow then be sunny this weekend. Hoping that holds true.

Ya it is an instant messaging program that also allows you to video chat and do voice calls. I have had no problems with it up until Tuesday.

I'm sleepy. Guess it is bedtime since I have to work tomorrow.

I use it to chat with the fiancee. Really only need it for another 2 months, then we will be living together. I do have it on this computer though (my desktop), so it is ok.

It's been a really stressful week around here. the bombings on Monday and last night and this morning the death of a police officer. One suspect is dead and one is on the run with most of the Boston area in lockdown.

Glad you are safe RR. And yes, been a very crazy week there indeed. Sounds like the lockdown has been lifted but they still haven't found the other guy.

Ya Chicago was pretty flooded. I though about staying at the fiancee's Wednesday night but I am super glad that I didn't. Just drove out here and I could see the road that I take to get here and back had been completely flooded. Like at least a foot or two underwater. There is no way that should have been like that. Just insane! And ya, we got some snow today as well...

in other news: mobo one retailer--ordered, yet somehow even though it said 'in stock' on the website...out of stock, mobo two--ordered, wait and see (have a third lined up jic, but cheaper and closer for two).
been doing cleaning to keep myself from ....well, to keep myself busy

, getting my 2nd set of japan film dvds back soon so I will have a fun time remembering just which temple and castle I took pics of (its been almost 10 years

since I was there...memory isnt quite as good as it was

)

ah well, gotta find a photo book I had...I moved it, just cant remember where I moved it to---was a better place for it for sure (since I cant locate it now

Yup they got him. Confirmation and everything. Glad that ordeal is over and that he is alive. I'm interested to see if they can pull the "why" out of him.

I am STILL searching my whole apartment for that one stupid photobook...I remember seeing it last around xmas (I moved it from a really good place to ....a really 'safe' place, one I cant find now...guess its pretty dang safe then, right?)
found another photobook I wasnt looking for in the process....and cleaning a bit along the way (making more of a mess than cleaning though)....oy, what a mess.

glad they got the guy...hope they get the answers they need to end this all.

I hate that, when you know you saw something and then you can't find it. Drives me bonkers to say the least... Hope you find it soon!

I really want them to get answers. I am curious as to why they did it. Couldn't have possibly just been for "fun" I wouldn't think.
